Can any frenchbro's fill me on on whats going on in France right now? You're going through governments like crazy, and it seems like the debt to GDP growth ratio is exploding.

>2017
>Macron wins the second round of the presidential election with 66% of the vote against "far-right" © Le Pen
>2022
Macron wins the second round of the presidential election with 58% of the vote against "far-right" © Le Pen
>2024 EU elections
>total "far-right" © victory with 32% of the votes, Macron's party only gets 15% (less than half lmao!), left and far-left combined (no alliance) get 22%
>the very next day, Macron decides to dissolve the parliament (sadly not physically) by calling for new elections
>results are 1/3 of the parliament is "far-right" ©, 1/3 Macronist, 1/3 left and far-left alliance
>it's impossible to govern, the government can fall overnight with a no-confidence vote (50%+1 vote)
>first governement lasts 3 months
>second government lasts 8 months, surprisingly
>third government lasts 12 hours
>we all thought Macron would call for new elections or resign... he just decided to nominate the same guy for prime minister again lol
>fourth government has been announced two hours ago
>"far-right" © MPs already said they would make it fall
>left-wing MPs are asking for political gifts or they will also make it fall
That's BASICALLY the situation.dphn

I heard your economy is also not growing enough to keep up with debt, is that true?

Absolutely. Or rather, the economy's growth isn't the problem; the problem is the government is REALLY overspending like crazy.
See pic related. If you can't read french, it says that for 1000€ of public funding, 601€ is spent on retired people (their insane pension* + healthcare) and the remaining 399€ are spent normally (army, justice, administration, etc.). I wish I was joking.
*my parents each receive a pension higher than my wage, and I'm not even on minimum wage.

That's absolutely insane. How is that going to end? They have to cut pension funds, right?

Plot twist: boomers are the only demographics to overwhelmingly vote for Macron. So... no.
>How is that going to end?
I don't know. We both live in depressing and exciting times. I call for a day of the pillow and the end of our 5th republic.

thank you for the informative breakdown. sounds like increasing the retirement age to offset the crazy pensions is justifiable, then, and probably also sounds like you French need to wake up to the reality that a couple of generations will have to work harder to stabilize things
is France spending a lot of social welfare for immigrants + military/humanitarian aid for Ukraine? why, in these situations, do countries refuse to put an absolute block on immigration with a carveout for exceptional talent (e.g., globally renowned physicist or leading economist or something)

I won't pay for stupid and/or corrupt politicians' mistakes.
>is France spending a lot of social welfare for immigrants
Yes. It's gibs paradise for parasites.
>military/humanitarian aid for Ukraine?
I don't know. Our government gave them armored vehicles and Mirage 2000; probably many other things and money too, we'll never know.

as long as you live in France, I'm not sure if you have the choice to not "pay." considering your parents' pension outstrips your income, it's clear that any macroeconomic consequences of your government's distribution of financial obligations directly affects you

I'm not french but from the outside looking in, they're undemocratic for a start, they jail political opponents, and commit electoral fraud to stay in power. Unfortunately for them, their time is almost up, because life isnt great, they can't wing it much longer

This seems like it's more a boomer problem than a sandnigger one
Anonymous (ID: WdG8GmlV) Belgium No.518742294 [Report]
France at this point is
-50% retired boomers receiving pensions other europeans can only fantasize about, sitting around in their villa in towns and villages
-40% niggers on welfare chimping out in cities
-10% productive french adults tasked with funding all of this somehow

Things went to shit fast after francois hollande's wealth tax, tens of thousands of french millionaires fucked off to switzerland but that tax base is what kept the clown-car of nigger gibs and boomer pensions moving. Forcibly removing your most productive citizens is not a big brain move.
>But why not prevent the rich from leaving, tax them at 80% and force them to continue making lots of money even if they have to incentive to do so?
Uh ok stalin
