FYI the real story here is how American screws American Eagle contractors and customers by not paying people and skimping on training. Turns out when you force 3 guys to work end-to-end 70 hour buster weeks, and try replacing them with min wage niggers you get nigger results. With DOGE killing the regional air service program subsidy, American is quietly replacing all AE flights with their new American Flyer buses. They started this during Covid, but Biden kept paying them for regional airport service, so they didn't shut down AE operations. Now this is starting due to the trump slump.

Don't say you weren't warned. If you don't live in a big metro area your flight options will become far more restricted unless you're flying charter. Most people can't afford that, especially not random people connecting from the hub flights, so the bottom will fall out on many medium airports unless they are connected to a big city and make a deal. Most can't afford a deal and you will be forced to take a bus or train instead.

State laws prevail. Texas don't care if you dump 10,000 gallons of gas, jet fuel or diesel into the Gulf of America. California Dept of Toxic Substances Control considers any leak over 1 gal reportable and any leak over 5 gal a spill requiring a total system shut-down, inspection and verified clean-up. By "verified" I mean a report filed to Cal DTSC where they automatically issue a fine which starts at about $10,000 depending on the severity. Because of this, all fuel pump trucks in California & similar states have scully systems that will automatically kill the flow if positive pressure or bonding is lost. A legal Scully install is like $8k per truck, yearly inspection is about $400, and it's why California has higher jet fuel prices.

Now if you're a big airport and a big foreign airline backed by a government (most) this is a marginal price to pay for no spills. But American is run by jews and hire niggers who cut costs everywhere, and American Eagle doesn't make money. AE exists because the government says it has to and the government pays them to serve small airports, so American Airlines cuts corners and lets literal actual dumb fucking NIGGERS pump jet fuel because they are willing to work for min wage.

Which is the other thing, California doesn't allow airport workers who are expected to preform "hazardous" work be paid min wage because the state govt wants them all having special spill training now. Texas also does not do this.

I am and the FAA is supposed to regulate this regardless, and an FAA regulated pump truck probably should have a practical exam as almost all refineries, oil terminals and railroads require. If California can force every airport ground worker to learn how to clean up spilled feces, the FAA can force black people to know what the red button does.

I work on an airport, there's a mechanic at the shop across the airport from us that basically runs his truck on jet fuel. Sometimes aircraft just need to have their fuel drained for calibrations or some other reason, and once it's drained you really shouldn't be putting it back in case it's contaminated. You can end up with quite a lot of fuel just sitting around in barrels and shit so might as well use it.

I believe you for the most part. I've heard of people running these trucks on veggie oil and propane, but never jet fuel. Briefly checked into the science, and it appears you were right, very simular, with jet fuel having less impurities and a higher flash-point. So I'm guessing as long as the truck wasn't so old you couldn't tune it to have a higher compression ratio, sounds possible.

yes, the way diesel works is any oil gets injected at high pressure, which heats it up, and compressed again, which heats it further until it self-combusts

basically anything will do as long as its viscous enough, even used engine oil (black diesel, ad its called) will work

check put cetane numbers for more info, its like "octane" or "aki" ratings, but for diesel. you can dump kerosene in your truck right this minute and itll run

as far as enhancing the lubrication qualities? i haven't tried. all i known is ive done it, done it a LOT, and it works

I don't know how the airline industry works, but usually these hoses are idiot proof. The flow is blocked, when the hose is removed, because the end of the hose has a valve. The other side needs to press on the valve in the end if the hose for fuel to flow. However, someone should never ever unhook a hose while the pump is on.

There is basically no lubricity in modern diesel (the low-sulfur stuff). Modern equipment is designed for that. Its the old stuff that needs fuel additives for lubricity. The bigger problem for the new stuff is the low-sulfur allows bacteria to grow in it(lots of people say algae, but it is bacteria). A lot of times the new fuel needs additives to kill that and make sure there is zero contained water - because the bacteria need the water to live in at the bottom of the tank.

Cut him some slack on his slow response, he just got popped in the face point blank with a fire hose of jet fuel. That shit would hurt even if it was distilled water or mild saline, but any kind of petroleum distillate is going to be worse.

Hmm, this maps to another 6.0 powerstroke owner preferring the trouble of sneaking farm-diesel into his truck. He'd load a lawn-tractor onto a trailer just to pretend he'd pulled up the AG pumps to fuel the tractor, and load his truck up with it instead. People bypass fuel taxes by filling up their trucks with off-road diesel. That fuel is dyed red as a marker but is otherwise the same as on-road.. Occasionally truck fuel tanks are checked for red dye, and if found you get a hefty fine.

As far as I know diesel, kerosene and jet fuel are basically the same thing these days, to the point that refineries can switch their output to any one of the output tanks.

there is a huge difference between combustible (what diesel is) and flammable (what gasoline is). Gasoline is scary stuff. Like the other anon says, if you have a little cup of diesel you can put out matches in it. Gasoline would instantly ignite. You need something to wick up the fuel, like a rag or paper towel to ignite diesel. After it burns for a little it can get hot enough to boil and the vapor will then burn without a wick over the boiling fuel.

But seriously, even that mist isn't atomizing coming out of a fueling hose. cool out, and avgas, and even far moreso jet-a which is what is actually being used here has a low vapor pressure and even has static/spark inhibitor additives on it. jet engines are continuously fed, and the fuel is stable.

if it's sitting out for a while on hot tarmac, you miiiight have an issue with vapor.. but still really low risk. things like grain silos are way more dangerous to spark explode. now, car gasoline/petrol has high vapor pressure and the vapors can easily get spark detonated, which is why static and smoking arent recommended at gas stations.

Fun trick I learned out in the country, you can do the lit cigarette trick with an open container of gasoline(in the shade), if it’s been sitting for a bit. How is American responsible for not paying people when they simply contract out flights to regional carriers on a code share? And training is FAA mandated and not part of any specific carriers training program. And also, refueling is mostly done by a third party service at each airport and not usually done by carriers unless they need to drain the tanks for long-term maintenance.

Yeah, diesel engines are very forgiving with what you fuel them with. Also, any kind of kerosene you get at the store or heating oil you get from a supplier is just diesel with red dye added to it so it isn't taxed as a road fuel.

I power my furnace with off-road diesel I get at my local gas station.
