This is simply false. If you understood humans whatsoever you would know this. The ability to act in uniform is what makes an army effective and keeps morale high during times of strife.

I think the real reason we have given up on this is we know it’s all about AI drone warfare now. Humans and their pesky emotions don’t even matter anymore.

Do to our relative isolation by geography we have not had the need to develop a professional military, our forays into the wider world have largely been expeditionary in nature and against enemies without a significant advantage in technology, numbers, or fighting ability therefore we never had to overcome an enemy advantage with superior organization and capabilities of our own.
We were never the underdog and so we never had to exercise that 'human element' that makes a miliary professional and mechanistic.

Even for advertising purposes it's probably worth it making the military look cool.

I think someone autistically loved sun Tzu before and was like, let's make our military look like pussies.
And then recruitment numbers fell off because a 90-100q teenager doesn't know that it's their whole tactic.

You might argue that, it doesn't matter so long as they are well tactfully trained.
But I'd argue that matching in step is very easy and it's a fundamental of drill.
If they can't march in step it's definitely the instructors fault.

Let's see if we get any improvement now that they're taking the gloves off.

The SF everyone posts marching from this event to make fun of the US Army are almost all whites, but green berets don't do marching and thus they weren't even trying to stay in step hence why it looks so shit. Basic training graduates probably look a lot better marching because marching after getting to your unit is rare/non existent in most of the army.

It doesn't surprise me that /pol/ is easily impressed by parade marching since this board is now mostly brown third worlders. It's all about appearances with such people. Even if the soldiers never do anything and are purely decorative, they are impressed by some orderly marching and snappy uniforms.
