the 'spiral shit' is orbits of other planets from earth's perspective. I don't need to bother observing it since millions of other people already have. I'm not wasting money and effort to get a telescope and spend years of my life plotting the orbits of planets since it has already been done extensively and professionally. when you plot the orbits of other planets from earth you get these cool patterns emerge even though the planets orbit elliptically in a simple line around the sun. in other words these patterns disappear if you plot the orbits of planets from the sun's perspective
