The recommended starting scenario starts you with a bolt-action rifle, a revolver and a knife, plus a flak vest and flak pants.
It's effortless to die in Rimworld, very easy to achieve, and when it happens it's usually because of 1 slip up or a bet that went wrong with your base layout and traps and corridors and so on.
And check the traits your colonists have, some traits prevent them from having ranged or melee weapons, 1 prevents combat altogether.

I preferred WaW's multiplayer over CoD4's. The WW2 weapons felt better suited for the perk and unlock system, it gave a sense that you're not really unlocking something available but are unlocking new weapons technologies by how it progressed through the years.

Shiiiiiiit this makes me realize how old I am now lol. Must've played thousands of hours in BF2. It, along with its sequel cousin 2142, were probably when the franchise peaked. BF started to go to shit once they added "infantry only" to the game and DICE started chasing the CoD market with each subsequent BF game.

Brings back memories of shooting attack choppers out the sky with the tank. It was hard enough for most noobies to either fail or not even try, but once you learned how to calculate the shell drop and trajectory of choppers, it was so satisfying. Usually one tank shell + a little bit of machinegun would have a chopper smoking and crashing.

I sucked at the air combat, unfortunately. Had a friend that played nothing but jets and choppers, he had joystick and everything for it lol.

One really epic game for real red pilled dudes is Battlecruiser 3000 A.D. This game got a lot of bad reviews because it is a pretty complicated game to play and master and a lot of idiots got angry that they couldn't figure out how to play it and vented their rage at the game's creator, Mr. Derek Smart. I have to say, Mr. Smart is one of the most talented creators for designing a game that only high IQ people can play!
