Some things don’t make sense, like how poorer countries tend to have more kids than richer ones. Theoretically, you’d think rich countries would be the ones having children, and poor countries wouldn’t have any. If I’d been born in Benin, I’d probably just skip it no kids at all. But if I was in Sweden, I’d have at least six. Problem is, it don’t really work like that

The problem we are facing globally is most places have advanced into the types of societies where fertility rates start to drop off. Now what generally happens after this phase is the mortality rates get better bc of medical, technology and sanitation advancements. Then they move to equilibrium.

The big issue is that the shitty countries that still have a very high birth rate due to lack of technological advancements are having their mortality numbers improve bc the west gives them free food and medicine meaning more children make it to adulthood (breeding age) so these nations with already limited resources become overpopulated and people go looking for greener pastures. Those greener pastures happen to exist in the west where birth rates have fallen off a cliff and mortality has been improved so those nations need young workers to support the old and feeble.

TLDR: western governments are purposely causing unsustainable population increases in shitty countries by giving them free food and medicine in order to pump young workers into their countries to combat falling birth rates. If left alone equilibrium will take place though it may effect a generation of old people pretty hard.
