Why is it better?
Are .357 revolvers good for hunting?
Are conceal carried 40mm grenade launchers good for self defense?
What's a good starting .223 bolt action rifle for range practice and small game?
Are revolvers more based than semi-autos?
Are revolvers ever worth it?

>But, unfortunately, there is a $200 tax stamp and ammo is a little pricey.
Yeah it's like a grand for a few boxes of normal ammunition. Plus they only let police blow up stations around here with them, probably can't get one for hunting. To koniec.

Think about how quickly the entire WWWIII (Wizarding-World War III) would have ended if all of the good guys had simply armed up with good ol' American hot lead. Have you noticed that only Europe seems to a problem with Deatheaters? Maybe it's because Americans have spent the last 200 years shooting deer, playing GTA: Vice City, and keeping an eye out for black helicopters over their compounds. Meanwhile, Brits have been cutting their steaks with spoons. Remember: gun-control means that Voldemort wins. God made wizards and God made muggles, but Samuel Colt made them equal. Now I know what you're going to say: "But a wizard could just disarm someone with a gun!" Yeah, well they can also disarm someone with a wand (as they do many times throughout the books/movies). But which is faster: saying a spell or pulling a trigger? Avada Kedavra, meet Avtomat Kalashnikova. Imagine Harry out in the woods, wearing his invisibility cloak, carrying a .50bmg Barrett, turning Deatheaters into pink mist, scratching a lightning bolt into his rifle stock for each kill. I don't think Madam Pomfrey has any spells that can scrape your brains off of the trees and put you back together after something like that. Voldemort's wand may be 13.5 inches with a Phoenix-feather core, but Harry's would be 0.50 inches with a tungsten core. Let's see Voldy wave his at 3,000 feet per second. Better hope you have some Essence of Dittany for that sucking chest wound. I can see it now...Voldemort roaring with evil laughter and boasting to Harry that he can't be killed, since he is protected by seven Horcruxes, only to have Harry give a crooked grin, flick his cigarette butt away, and deliver what would easily be the best one-liner in the entire series: "Well then I guess it's a good thing my 1911 holds 7+1."

I've shot just about every pistol available to shoot or own within reason and for whatever reason the 1911 is the only one I can consistently put the entire mag through the 10 ring at 21 ft. what is it that makes them so aesthetic and simple- yet fueled by optimal for their originally intended purpose? unlike most plastic guns ?

Polish the feedramp, 1911s were designed for round nose ammo. They also have a "break in" period, which is unacceptable for modernly manufactured guns, but somehow allowed to exist in 1911s because of boomer tradition. I had an RIA GI model that I lapped the slide, frame, and barrel, and polished the feed ramps on and it ran flawlessly even with crappy magazines and whatever ammo I fed it. Once properly fitted they run just fine.

small .357s are for retards or range toys. Hardcast .38spl will completely pen a human torso. That's all you can ask of any handgun round. Less recoil, faster follow up shots and cheaper practice. Any flavor of J-frame or LCR will be fine. I like the wheelguns Taurus is putting out these days but I find them slightly too large for all pants pocket carry. Whatever you pick INSPECT IT PROPERLY. This is the #1 way to not have issues with a revolver. New or used. Any manufacturer.

For me, it's the TT33. No useless safety features. Flat and fits easily in your pocket.

excellent, tabbed it open. also im heading to patronize a gun store the turbo libshit city council is trying to put out of business. denying their building renovation permits, construction permits to expand on their own property, and other hostile acts

ironically all this leftist muh "love and tolerance" shit they did caused a boom out of spite, theres barely room to walk in there now

A fellow man of taste. I have to remove the stupid ambi safety for the same reason. If you actually carry a 1911, you like the grip safety.

Solid weapon overall that was used in both world wars. I think for soldiers, a simple yet powerful pistol is ideal as a back up weapon.

You can trick out your AR as much as you want, but I guess when your back is against the wall and you just need to go blam blam, 1911 has got ur back.

No anon, a glock is simple. 1911 is john brownings rubix cube of justice with 7 suppositorys of gods wrath.
Its accurate, mostly reliable and has a fair bit of stoppung power. But capacity leaves much to be desired unless youre used to revolvers, which americans were for the longest time.
