Do not mistake my words for mere criticism from an outsider; I issue this as a formal challenge from within a Brotherhood that values action over apathy.

I have dedicated my life to the practical application of our symbolic working tools. I have learned to lead men with justice and compassion on the field of friendly strife, to work in harmony as part of a team in the court of sport, and to apply the unerring gauge of diligence to my studies, thereby achieving the highest academic marks. Furthermore, I have consciously built a square, stable, and virtuous relationship with a worthy companion, a sacred union that continually strengthens my pursuit of a moral and upright life. Do not misinterpret this as a declaration of perfection; I am but a rough ashlar, yet I strive daily to smooth my imperfections with the gavel of self-discipline, that I may become fit for that spiritual building, that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

What efforts should be put forth towards a society and future that offers nothing but death to you. Why should I seek to improve the lives of those around me if they do not seek the same? Only to take what is given to them without giving back. Today, action without backing and assurances is what we call failure. You cannot individually will any success today that will not be manipulated, abused, and exploited along the way.

I would say on the contrary, it is those with ambitious schemes to deny success to others that are causing society to decay. The current free market is allergic to real competition while forcing everyone else to scrape and claw for a small step up.
