That archeological site predates the Book of Jeremiah under all accounts. It, alongside most of the OT, were written around the 4th to 3rd century BCE, while the tophet goes back to the 6th century. Jesus only criticized (and undid) the Pharisees and the evil Old Testament ways. He did not criticize the Roman or Greek Gods or other Pagan practices of the day. But gave the general advice one should not make a big public spectacle to show off their piety over others, but if it's something they all enjoy doing together, a group worship, that's probably fine.
