California bans Glocks.
>California Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed the long-anticipated “Responsible Gun Manufacturing Act,” Assembly Bill 1127, a law that may now trigger a major challenge under the Second Amendment. The law banned the Glock semi-automatic handguns that are a favorite of American gun owners, including former Vice President Kamala Harris.
>The California law will now take effect on July 1, 2026, “[banning] the sale of new Glock-brand pistols and Glock-style clones.” In my view, it is unconstitutional under prior Supreme Court precedent.

Today alot of companies basically make a gen 2 glock and the guns are completely compatible with all glock parts even glock slides. A couple companies do this now. Sell them for 300 usd. Ruger makes a gun called the rxm thats legitimately just a glock with the name ruger on side lol

IDK the exact wording of the bill but clones are usually part compatible with the originals.
The Palmetto state armory dagger for example is a glock clone and most things will fit, like barrels, trigger parts, mag releases and even whole slides

That kinda makes sense. If you had to jump through a million hoops get something nice. Personally id say glocks are super reliable pistols. Price wise. Where I live in the American south id say theyre middle of the road priced. Glocks are like 400 to 600 usd where I live. Some going for 300 or 800. Sometimes you see police trade ins rhat are cheap old cop gun. They upgraded and sold it on the civilian market. But ive seen a 200 usd gun and a 1000 gun. At the end of the day. Its rhe gun youre comfy with and train with that'll be good. Even if its some 1850s cap and ball. Id rather go into battle with the guy with the 200 piece of shit that trained with it than the 1000 gun guy that uses it once. A year you know

In my experience Glocks are only reliable if you treat them right, because they're really susceptible to over lubrication. Also I really don't enjoy their grip angles and U-shaped sights, but that's just personal preference.

For comparison a Glock 17A (122mm barrel variant) is $1,195 and a CZ Shadow 2 (by far the most common handgun here) is $2,800. Yeah, our prices are that bad. I sold my only handgun last year because you need to compete 10 times a year just to keep them, and I didn't have enough time with work and looking after a toddler.

Actually we do have guns. A lot of guns, that you don’t know about. But the thing is we still don’t have to worry about getting shot every day.
In fact you can even own a gun without any license at all here if it’s made before 1900 and is a single shot or antique flintlock pistol. But they cost a lot

The difference is not that we don’t have guns, it’s that culturally gun violence is not an acceptable thing here and we have a registry for legal ownership, whereas in America there’s none of that
So it’s a cultural difference not a physical difference in a reduction of the amount of available firearms
We regulate things so heavily that it would be insane to commit gun violence here but in America you can legally 3d print a ghost glock and carry it to Walmart
It’s a huge difference just based on that alone

Every American has a gun in their car purely for self defence reasons. They can legally carry a gun for self defence. Which results in much higher gun crime
Here if you are carrying a gun it cant be for self defence has to be for something totally different, so the occurrence of guns being used in crime goes way down to just the tiny fraction of armed criminals who do decide to take the risk
Thats the real reason the US has 14 gun deaths per 100k people and Aus only has 0.9

We do though you need a background check to even purchase the firearm let alone walk out the door with it. The guns that are used in almost all crimes are unserialized firearms from the black market ie stolen firearms or from out of country arms trade or stolen from military inventory.

It needs to be an actual competition with recorded scoring. In practice that's almost all of the shooting that people do here, clubs just run comps 5x a day and make the rules pretty lax. So you might theoretically be doing "ISSF 25m", but you can use two hands and a 9mm pistol. Then it's just 2x15 rounds on static targets and 2x15 rounds on rotating targets. IPSC is pretty popular here too.

The downside is that you usually won't just go to a range and blast away at close targets like in the US. Not that you can't, it's just not very convenient so most people don't do it. The other problem is that some clubs get overtaken by boomers who institute bullshit rules like only being able to fire one-handed. But the upside of all of this is that the average shooter is pretty good, comparatively speaking.

I don't worry about being shot every day either, because I live in a neighborhood that is 85% white, and the rest of the population that isn't white is mostly Mexican or Asian. Blacks don't live around me, so go figure, there's almost no homicides or gun crime of any kind. I wouldn't have to travel very far to encounter a lot more violent crime, in the largest nearby city, but why would I do that? I like living in an area that's quiet and safe.

Oh, and gun ownership is very high where I live. If gun violence actually did correspond with gun ownership then my neighborhood should be a war zone, but instead it's one of the safest places in the whole state.

TL;DR we don't exactly have a "gun problem"

Nice thats cool man. Im not sure if I wanna get any different sites but getting new magazines for the a1. Seems pretty hard. Either you buy the tens from steyr directly or buy them off of gun broker. A2 mags would work in the a1 but theres a little nub of plastic on the bottom. If you look at the bottom of Pic rel. I guess it has some kind of lanyard and a super rare butt stock that can be attached but apparently good luck ever finding one or whatever. I guess it could be shaved off in some way but id probably never ever do it. It slike how many mags do you need? But still Id like at least 5 to 6 of them. Whatever lmao thats the only downside to this gun is slightly rare parts. I guess its more supported in European countries but imagine importing mags from Europe. It'd probably cost a shit ton. Other than that having 4 mags now seems pretty good. It'd be nice if steyr still sold a1 mags rhat aren't ten but thats okay. I got one and 3 17s. The gun shoots plus p and nato. Probably even ++p if you wanted to be fuckin ballsy. Ill go with some old 9mm luger 147 grain hollowpoints

Being a felon in possession of a firearm is, on paper, a serious offense in every state, and can result in a long prison sentence, in addition to other charges incurred in the course of a crime. If the courts here were actually interested in prosecuting these people, who are usually niggers, our murder rate would drop to a level comparable to the nicer European countries. But accomplishing that would mean constructing enough prisons to warehouse several million additional niggers until they are too old to be dangerous.

Larger isn't a problem, recoil is dependent on the 10mm load. There are a lot of 10mm loadings that are equivalent to 40 cal, and that's barely harder to control than 9mm biggest draw back is cost per round

The 10/22 recoil is so negligible that it's quite possible to fairly accurately magdump in semi-auto. For this reason, among others, they are quite viable as home-defense weapons.

Cali cops are notorious gun runners. The law is for new guns, cops buy Glocks by the boatload and sell them as used. Typical DNC corruption.

They keep making the Glock gen 3 because it’s on the roster. Glock engineered the Gen 5 to be less plug and play friendly with a switch, but that’s the one banned in California, and they’re accusing Glock of being irresponsible.

also if you bailed on mandatory serving in the army and instead picked civil service you are not allowed to get a gun

The law is written in a way so they next time they address it they strike a few words and a section from it and it covers basically all guns because any semi-auto is easy to convert into a machine gun. The gun control game is basically a 2 parter:
1. Ban a feature or class of firearm, "You can still own a gun, just not one that does X, or has Y"
2. Make a law you know is unconstitutional but keep it tied up in courts as long as possible so you can keep enforcing it during that time, when it's struck down, change something slightly and pass what's essentially the same law. There's no law about knowingly passing unconstitutional laws to punish those who do this so there's no reason to not keep doing it. Add to this activist judges keep it tied up and active as long as possible.

SCOTUS is cucked and won't put lower courts/judges in their place with a concrete "fuck you, guns are allowed stop being faggots about this" ruling.

Its really hard to overlubricate any firearm realistically. You would literally need to submerge them for them to be unreliable.

Extra gun oil isnt desirable but it wont impede on the function much, especially higher quality ones that purposely work to make sure excess debris does not harm the gun.

And CZ prices there are crazy. I got my Czechmate for $2700 for reference and then put a load of upgrades into it from there. However at the end of the day I ended up liking Berettas much more over the CZs.
