This isn't just one single stock or something where you can get lucky, we're talking about protecting your position against fundamentally broken parts of the economy.
The fact that privately owned central banks can print our currencies without any restraints means we're in a rigged game. The covid pandemic removed any doubt. Trillions were printed while the economy was shut down.
The only way to protect yourself is to diversify your portfolio. Gold should be one of several different asset classes.

The US government and many others are buying up a shit-ton of gold right now because all the math dudes behind the scenes have told them the global economy is going to crash soon. Other commodities are being stockpiled as well. As long as you have valuable goods and metal currency, you can easily recover when fractional reserve banking collapses under its weight in debt.

As less and less gold is available on the market, you'll see that line keep going up.

Correct about the devaluation, however gold price has been artificially suppressed for decades, and the suppression has only began to lose it's power after 2008 first, then after Covid.

Good choice. Unbeliveable how 4 years ago it was 'only' around 1700-1800 USD/Oz. Now it's worth more than 2.5 times.
And yes, this is mostly cz the currencies around the world are devaluaing....but the rest is natural correction. Gold price suppression is finally cracking. So it's not all bad news for those who were smart enough to invest in physical gold and silver.

A fun fact about transporting Au in/out of the US
(was confirmed by a Customs agent several years ago)
-- if the coin has a valid currency denomination (like $50), it's this number that counts towards the $10k reportable requirement
-- if it doesn't (like Krugerrand), it is considered a commodity, and anything over $3k needs to be reported (I think to the Census Bureau this time)

central banks are buying gold instead of us treasuries because the real inflation rate is much higher than the federal funds rate and thus the return on treasury bonds. so people buy gold because the free market will value it correctly.

gold will be $6000 per oz by mid 2026 at the latest. 10k an ounce by 2028, and 12,000 - 15,000 per oz by 2030

As long as you don't think the government will legislatively intervene to try and reevaluate currency/debt, mortgages/debt in general are a good hedge against hyperinflation. If a loaf of bread is $1000, you can pay off a pre-hyperinflation denominated loan easily. A $500,000 house is just 500 loaves of bread.

I also recommend buying some high quality tools now, otherwise you'll be selling your gold and silver for them later. Any long-lasting physical commodity you'll need, just get it now.

Uwut m8? Seems to me that if currency is being devalued and inflation is increasing at a substantial rate while you have investment in assets that aren't being devalued at the same rate then your relative debt to networth is going down. So long as interest rates on the debt don't somehow go up and it doesn't get so bad that the monetary system is totally overhauled with a new currency standard introduced that set dollar amount of debt owed is progressively becoming smaller for the same reason cash savings lose value during periods of high inflation.

Meh. You can cherry-pick cycle tops for one asset and cycle bottoms for a second and make shitty comparisons all you want. The reality is that gold will track the debasement of the USD, while Bitcoin will track the debasement of the USD multiplied by the ratio of increase in adoption of Bitcoin.

Since governments are just now beginning to start adopting Bitcoin -- Luxembourg literally announced just in the last week that they were going to put 1% of their national wealth fund into it -- that ratio is going to be greater than 1, which means that in the long term, Bitcoin will be a better buy.

gold purchasing power goes quite a bit faster than inflation adjusted purchasing power of money.
I can only judge it by Poland's terms, but in 2019, ,what you could get for 10 euro, now costs tad less than 20. So, the cost, simplifying it, went up 100%. Meanwhile gold went up nearly 200%

24k = 100%

18k = 75%
14k = 58.5%
10k = 41.7%
