It's true. Being middle class takes resilience. You need to show up to work and contribute something. You need to interact with bureaucracies at least somewhat. Not everyone can do it.

No not really. What it basically boils down to is whether or not you trust the media. Most people still trust some media, so they're always occupied by current thing and forget the previous current thing as soon as the new current thing comes along. They don't think about ALL the things that have happened, they only think about the thing that's going on now. So while you might think of the past 25 years as one catastrophy after another, most people don't think about it at all.
So if anything it's not that they're resilient, they just have far less to worry about.

They're "tough" the same way cattle is tough.

You can walk right up to a cow and open it's stomach up with a chainsaw and the cow will just stand there and let it happen, is that what you consider to be "toughness?" Or is it more like being, "Insensate."

I think that's what makes normies so "tough," they're not actually toughing anything out, they just don't FEEL anything at all.

Nobody walks up to a guy in a wheelchair who's paralyzed from the waist down and kicks him in the shins and says, "Damn, this dude's as tough as fucking nails" when he doesn't flinch. He didn't feel anything, there was no "toughness" required.

So in my opinion, the toughness of normies is not really "toughness," it's just from them being brutish and blockheaded and dumb by nature, like any other livestock, they're built tough enough to endure a hard and horrible life without complaining much, it's not like they choose to be tough out of a sense of courage or nobility of spirit.

I would argue that they aren't even capable of true toughness, just like they aren't capable of true courage.
