That part is true. I thought that it would get better if I could save up enough to buy a tinyhome in cash, then change careers. In fact I thought as a NEET that wagecucking would give me more structure and discipline so I'd start studying more. But that only lasted a month before the tiresomeness of it got to me.
I almost doubled my salary and was going to become a repair technician then the whole company shut down.

At this point, I don't know what trade is worth going into. I just don't want hazardous chemical exposure.

No, moron. I went civil engineering because it tied directly into my field. I did land surveying straight out of high school. By 19 I was a crew chief. By 25 I was licensed. Passed my FTSE on the first try. No tutoring. This netted me a fuck ton of credits. Basically got to skip 2+ years of college. This was before GPS dumbed down the field and requirements changed from 6 years responsible charge to 2 years of college to get licensed.

We ran TDS and EFB data collection programs mostly, but some GPS for shit out in the sticks. Sub contracted for FDOT for bigger jobs. We did it all. Highways, bridges/flyover/overpasses (all the same shit), DEP (EPA) surveys, LiDAR, residential, construction layout (easiest shit there is), etc. Now on the engineering side I mostly do high rises and bridges, since that's where the big money is, but I still do subdivisions and layout during lean times to keep my guys busy.

By the way, we use calc, trig, physics, etc. daily. There is nothing about calculus that is difficult. It's 95% rate of change and curves. That's it. You aren't special.
