Note the dates OP. It is taking Russia longer. Also remember that every day 1000-1400 russians are slaughtered. Not sure when this particular assault started but it has been going on since at least April. 30,000 dead Rusbros a month x 6 months bro. Thats over half of the Rusbros in the initial invasion most of them dead trying for Pokrovsk. It took far less to take Avdiivka. Sure Russia will takw Pokrovsk but then what. The new offensive will take even longer and consume twice the Rusbros. It's not sustainable. Keep in mind the real slaughter for the Rusbros will be during the occupation phase.

That's not true. Whoever has the most firepower (which in this case is the Russians) inflicts the most casualties, irregardless of whether they're attacking or defending. Defenders only see an advantage if they have firepower parity with their attacker, but Ukraine doesn't.
