In China, this is already happening. If you go to China there are "dark factories" where they do not even keep lights on because robots run the whole factory.
The Chinese economy can handle that, because its communist. People work there for luxury items only. Nobody works to survive in communist China, the way we do here in the fascist US.
The US SUPPRESSES ALL TECH THAT IS NOW PROFITABLE TO THE WEALTHY. But communist countries dont do that. Now the US cant keep on competing with the Chinese tech...the US will instigate nukes in its last ditch attempt to wipe communists off the board.
