Mostly it gets used for asphalt, but asphalt is one of the most recycled materials on earth, and most developed nations are well past the point where we're laying down hundreds of thousands of miles of road, so Venezuela's oil industry hasn't been doing well at all. No customers. Back in the 60s and 70s they were doing alright, but part of the reason they want the Exxon oil in Guyana is because its a much higher quality suitable for making gasoline, and Venezuela's isn't.
