Anyway he started his gaming career in early 2000s when CS game version 1.6. was rolled out in internet. Even earlier version was LAN only.
LAN games of course cant become as huge as internet games.

He won 2012 Japanese CS championships.
The game they played at that point was Global Offensive which had just been released, it was hugely different from the original game in terms of game engine altough everything is "supposed" to be largely same.

Noppo took out 3 enemies with a wallhack (uneliminated bug in the game) and this was not regarded as cheating because it is how the game is coded.

Finnish counterstrike legends met Noppo in 2025 summer in some wedding as a guest. They shared gaming stories.

Bullshit I played in the very first public alpha. CS was always Internet based.

Being Japanese they likely just had no one hosting a server there as the player base was so low and not many Japs had a capable PC in the 2000s nor gamed on it.

guarantee he was vaxxed, plus lived a life where 90% of his time was sitting on his ass playing a video game. What people don't realize is that when you're playing a very intense, competitive game at a high level, it's very stressful and taxing, so you're simultaneously not getting the proper physical exercise while continuously stressing your system. It's a very unhealthy combination.

CS is slower paced than Q or UT thats for sure. and i completely agree that skill gap and ceiling in Q/UT is massive compared to CS.
CS plays out generally slowly and everyone moves smaller, jumps and rare. shooting comes rare and bursted for short amount. stuff like smokes and flashes slows down your advancement. no projectiles, no skillshots, no predictions in CS also means less skill. even though i never played Q or UT. also bomb planting requires ritualistic actions and forces you to camp. havent seen anyone camping in Quake. youd be dead as soon as you stop moving. slow, so called, SHIFT-walking in CS also is a slower paced tactic. maps in CS are mostly horizontal and wide. Quake its all about super open or close tunnel quarters. bam, bam - youre dead
