A fucking new Land Cruiser or 4Runner goes for $70-80k($50-60k USD) here and I see them a lot. The fuck doods why is the economy doing so great???? I barely saw these cars 5-10 years ago…

True. BMWs, Audis and Mercedes used to be considered high-end cars, now they are the norm, you see them everywhere, literally NPC cars. I see them so often I don't even register them anymore. The new high-end are Porsches, Corvettes. I see so many Porsches and that's just in my shithole country of 2 million people, as a kid I couldn't even imagine seeing that kind of car anywhere now there's two or three in front of the gym, one was a 200k eur GT3 RS, and I'm like isn't everyone complaining about barely getting by and life becoming harder? Apparently not. There's even Brabus and Lamborginis driving around the city. And here you're considered very well off if you're earning 2-3k a month. I don't know what these people are doing to afford these cars.

Most of these are actual second hand company leases. Niggers/Puerto Rican spic hybrids don't care about owning anything since their true home is back on the island, so they just rent/lease. Since these people live in urban environments there is a huge market of 'used' lease cars turned out by company executives that end up going to these spic groids when done. The car dealership double dips the lease.

This is why you see so many Puerto Rican flags dangling off the rear view mirror on Mercedes c classes.

its the retards who are paying 15-20k, over 8 years, for used car with 150-200k miles on them. then the vehicle breaks down and they cant afford to fix it, or make the loan payments, so they stop making loan payments.
majority of the repo's are of that.

Well, yes, cars are deprecating assets. The only way you could stay above water is if you have a massive down payment on a new car. Even if you pay full price in cash it’s still going to be worth less than what you paid for it.

Still doesn’t necessarily mean the economy is good or bad. For the vast majority of non-wealthy buyers, the monthly payment is a far more important indicator of affordability, hence part of the reason car loans last so long.

$70-$80k today for a car is not expensive at all. If you have a regular job today everyone can buy a new or a used "luxury" car. Hell you get a fucking Bentely Continental GT for $15k today, and you get a Maserati for $5k. Yes they are trash, will break down within a week because of the milage, but its all an illusion.
Porsche is not a "luxury" car anymore except a few models. There are more Porsches around now than station wagons over here.

And in The US, you have some of the craziest downpayments out there. 0 down and get a car as long as you can show for something.

People buy cars on credit and its the shittiest investment in most cases. Its all about looking successful and thats it.

I would love to have the Lexus GX550 or A Grand Highlander or a Land Cruiser if I lived in The US. They are solid, reliable and take you from A to B without having the lamps in the dash start blinking after 2-4k miles like these shitty European cars that they make today. And no, European cars like German cars are NOT the same reliability and quality as it was decades ago. You basically buy the brand and thats it.

I have always had Toyotas and Lexus and will continue to buy them. I love american cars but since I live in the fag side of the west, we dont get them. And if I am to import any, its gonna cost me $300k for a new Escalade after taxes.

So Americans are fucking lucky as hell when it comes to cars and what they cost. Best country in the world when it comes to cars and what to chose from.

I have never seen the new Land Cruiser to be honest. Only on YouTube videos. Last year when I was in The US, I went to a Lexus dealership and looked at the GX550, and I loved it. Toyday I am driving a Rav4 Hybrid over here. Nothing special, but reliable as hell. Had it for 7 years and zero issues. Car has passed about 80k miles now and only done regular service and oil changes. Nothing more.

The GX was really something tho. I had a Lexus LC500 for a few years and loved that one as a secondary driver and loved that one as well.
I have a Mr2 Turbo MK2, that I have had for 24 years now, and even that car has never had any massive issues. I changed the turbo once and did a overhaul of the engine myself but it was a waste. Even the headgasket was in really good condition.

So Toyota and Lexus for me has worked well. The GX had an amazing look seeing it and interior and space was fantastic also.

The middle class is gone. Now everyone is either a richfag or a poorfag, with no in-between. Richfags are doing well, they are watching their investments rapidly increase in value, the line keeps going up, all of their bills get paid automatically without even thinking about it, they go out and eat in nice restaurants and go on vacations and buy nice new cars and other consumer goods and status symbols without even thinking about how they are going to pay for it. Just throw it on one of the cards that gets a 5% cashback, and since the balance always gets paid off you never get charged interest so it's like you have a 5% discount on everything on top of being a richfag.
Meanwhile poorfags are struggling hard to make ends meet, constantly falling further and further behind, everything costs more but it seems like their take home pay keeps getting smaller. And things at work seem grim, and they have no idea how they could survive if they lose this job. Paying all the bills on time isn't even a consideration, the only option is trying to shuffle them around to keep the power on and not get evicted. They are scrimping and saving and debtmaxxing and taking out loans just to stay afloat.
Basically everyone is in one of those two categories. And over time, this divide will almost certainly just keep getting bigger and more extreme, as more and more of those clinging to the bottom of richfagdom suddenly become poorfags when their job gets replaced by Pajeets in India or AI.
The issue for a lot of /pol/tards is that they grew up in a fairly well-off middle class or upper middle class family, but now they are in the poorfag class without realizing just how far they have slipped down the socioeconomic ladder.

Most people especially the dune coon imports in Canada value image more than anything else. They put themselves into a slave like position all to look wealthy.
My current business value and assets are above $2M.....
My daily driver is a 1992 FJ80 bought for $20k cash. My mortgage is low and my business is growing.
I could drive something flashy but to me my old FJ80 is a Ferrari.
As my business grows my old FJ80 will get bigger tires, LS swap and other things I value that shit skins and chinks don't.
Pic related is my dream car. I'll build a sleeper. I'll buy my wife a nice van or other soccer mom vehicle with debt because 4 kids and safety is nice and she puts up with my shit. You'd have to be stupid or wealthy to buy even a modest car for cash. The used car market in the UK is cooked, prices for 10-15 year old cars are ridiculous.

I also wonder where the money is coming from for housing. There are houses going onto the market at prices anybody doing a normal job, would never get a mortgage for. Not even close. But they sell within a couple of weeks, a month. There is serious money floating about, but where has it come from, how are they doing it. I assume its inheritance, or boomers down sizing, selling in one area, releasing capital, moving to another area, how else can they afford these homes.

>or boomers down sizing, selling in one area, releasing capital, moving to another area, how else can they afford these homes
It's not necessarily boomers downsizing, but you're right that the insane property prices you see at point of sale are facilitated by the previous growth in the property prices that have given people larger equity.
If a young couple bought a starter home for $500k at age 25, that home may well be worth close to a million now 10 years later. Assuming an initial $150k deposit (often assisted by their parents), and consistent mortgage repayments, they may have equity in their home of over $700k. If they made typical career advancements over that 10 year period they could be on a combined income of 50%+ more than they were 10 years ago. Given their increased income and home equity a bank may be willing to lend then a further $500k (even though they are still approx $300k in debt).
So now they are a 35 year old couple in the market for a $1.5m (maybe $1.4m after stamp duty) home. This is only possible because they entered the housing market 10 years ago. A couple the same age and on the same income but with zero home equity may only be able to borrow $700k from the bank and so would be looking at properties half the price of the couple that entered the property market 10 years ago.
I don't know the exact figures of how many property purchases each year are first home buyers versus people selling one home and buying another, but the sales price of every home bought by someone already in the property market is at least partly a reflection of simply moving existing equity from one property to another, and not a reflection of the purchasing power of their income alone.
The median sales price in Sydney is $1.6 million, while the borrowing power of a dual income couple on median fulltime income is less than a million dollars. The main reason for this is because a significant amount of purchases are not being made by first home buyers.

Indians will lease luxury cars and have five people paying for one of them. If your in an area with many Audis, BMWs, Caddies then you are probably in an area with a lot of browns. White people drive Hyundais and Toyotas and/or they will drive a high end pickup truck.

no one even bought new supercars, just very rare and obscure ones most of the time and drove semi-normal luxury cars to run errands

The percentage who are first time home buyers has dropped to an all time low. More than 3/4 of houses being sold are NOT being purchased by first time buyers. And at the same time, the average age for first time buyers has increased to an all time high.

Yes and (I hate to admit it), no.
A lot of "first time buyers" have zero idea what it takes to own and maintain a house, and it gets worse with each younger tranche of buyers.
People who debtmaxx for their Dream House [TM] are going to head-splode the first time a big bill for--whatever--hits. Then there's the scheduled stuff. Having a house is having another job, except you pay to have it.
Fewer and later first time buyers reflects an increasing portion of buyers who don't want the hassle of owning (even as they bitch Where's Muh Home), and haven't managed their lives in their 20s or even 30s to creditmaxx (be in a position to have lenders competing for their business). Or they're bouncing back from mistakes. Or they're waking up to basic financial realities later in life.
A lot of people in their 20s anc 30s and even 40s live without roots. Some are constantly moving, which means every remortgage resets the interest curve to the fattest part/front end. If they don't understand the process they lose equity and gain debt in return for Muh Lifestyle.
Plus from what I'm seeing zoomies and many millennials have unrealistic demands. They think that a "starter" "home" should be 2,000+ sf with all the amenities they grew up with, and they have no idea, the price tags on it all. They want to start out in life where their parents arrived after 30-40 years of work.
I think of how my parents raised five kids in a 700sf row house in a shipyard/refinery town, and they were considered to be doing pretty well because they had a car. No a/c, one tiny bathroom, none of the telcoms luxuries of today, one land line. And my dad was constantly fixing/rebuilding things himself. Of the kids, two were wastrels (now dead), and two did OK ($4m or more net worth). The fifth scrapes by.
Life is hard. But there are many Shlomos who will sell that sweet sweet consoomer addiction. For a price, Ugarte. For a price.

Inheritance or bitcoin and if it is a nice truck, debt. Housing boom remnants. People sell house in Vancouver for example, and buy townhome or condo in Fort Langley or where ever it now takes them 2 hours to get to the city center and they buy a nice vehicle.
