One year a national political firm paid me way too much money to oversee quality control for their voter registration program across several key battleground states. Legally these firms cannot call themselves left or right or Republican or Democrat. However the strategies this particular firm utilized were overtly democrat. The amount of fraud I was asked to look the other way on cannot be overstated. The alternatives are some sort of proportional voting and having reps effectively be at large, which works badly because the American electoral system is designed with the tech debt that parties don't actually exist and you are voting for a candidate.

The other alternative is just adding more reps, and shrinking districts. However this has implications for the electoral college that I'm not sure the right wants because it reduces the advantage that less-populated red states enjoy in the current system. I generally prefer this over proportional representation regardless.
