Both cities have good and beautiful places to visit. It's not all bad. LA still has the best that american and mexican culture combined have to offer.

Mexico City is way worse than Los Angeles. Just look at it in google maps. Homicide rate is higher and quality of life is lower in Mexico city.

Ive always wondered why border cities are all ugly shitholes. I've been to almost every border city, from Tijuana to Ciudad Juárez and they're all bad. I doubt the ones on the east side that all border Texas are better.

I haven't traveled that much here to give a good answer to this. There's lot of good tourist places, some overpriced, some overrated. The tourist area of Cancun is nice, Los Cabos is also good. In general most beach tourist cities are decent. Monterrey is alright. Mexico City has nice places like every capital but it's an overcrowded mess. The whole crime cartel shit is present everywhere in some way or another though.

every single person that actually lives in the border cities, are just expats from other states that are just "waiting" for the chance so they can hop the border, or people thatw ere deported fromt he US and just live there waiting for their chance to go back... but they never did and they diddnt realize thatr they were stuck in those cities for the rest of their lifes, but since they are little brown monkeys from the jungle, they fail to see that they have to take care of their new city, and they all seem to think they are only "passing by" even tho theyve lives in those cities for 2 or 3 decaddes..

TLDR : zero sense of appropiation or need to feel like they a re part of a community because they think they are just there as tourists waiting for the right time to eventually hop the border to the US.
