climate change is not man-made, there's pollution but it doesn't affect the climate cycles at all.

climate environmentalism is about power and money. that's it. otherwise the top priority would be to pull out production from china since they are wrecking the planet the most, but that doesn't happen. because it's about money and power. not saving the planet.

Geological processes and human activity are only releasing carbon that is supposed to be in the atmosphere already. Earth isn't a temperate planet naturally, it's supposed to be tropical, KT event trapped a ton of carbon in the ground that we are only now just releasing, and carbon in the atmosphere is great for plant growth.

Environmentalists don't give a fuck about the planet, they only care about a human friendly biosphere.

If it's anything like our carbon tax he's saying they should be paying him. Here if you don't pollute that much, or produce things that people think might reduce pollution, like, I don't know, electric cars or something, you get a carbon bonus you can sell to the coal power plant so they land in the reasonable tax bracket instead of the ass-raping one.

Anonymous (ID: 4Hf6xUrX) United States No.519072295

CO2 has a negligible effect on total heat energy stored in the atmosphere.
What's actually a problem are the following-
1. urbanization
2. agriculture clearing out forest lands(forests are heat sinks)
3. mechanization and industrialization

#3 is a hard one for most people to understand, but essentially every single machine that humans use outputs heat energy. Every time friction happens, heat is generated. Every time any engine or motor operates, heat is released. Every piece of electronics on earth gives off heat when powered on. And every single exothermic chemical reaction releases heat. When you open a door, heat is generated by the hinges. Every tire on the road releases heat. Your smartphone adds many watts of heat to the atmosphere a day. When you have trillions of machines and artificial chemical reactions adding heat energy to the atmosphere, and less heat sinks(trees) to absorb that heat, the climate will warm up.

No carbon tax will solve this.

That's EXACTLY what they want, and have said so many times. Their garbage tech can't survive without it. It's trash. No battery technology that exists can store as much energy as gasoline, and diesel even mogs gasoline. There's a good reason that landscapers use gasoline powered equipment and not electric/battery. The complex pain in the ass logistics of trying to transport the amounts of cryo methane and lox required for high cadence launches has resulted in spacex investing in on site gas capture from atmospheric sources using the sabatier process for the methane. If the starship program keep moving forward and doesn't end up shitcanned for one reason or another it's completely plausible that those launches will be carbon neutral before long and may even ultimately be a carbon sink. It wouldn't surprise me if all this shit about carbon taxes is just him looking for another angle to make money since he's already so deep into building exactly the kind of infrastructure that would make carbon credit swapping actually somewhat feasible.

Once more, you don't get that way or stay that way without knowing how to offset your expenses onto everyone else. That's how wealth at that level works, and you already know that. Your mistake is in thinking that appeals to the government will take action, especially as you likewise know that the government is effectively controlled, sometimes run by these same people. Why the fuck would you ever think they would do anything to help you? They're tag teaming you and trying to get you to consent to adding rules that help them and handicap you.

>using economic incentive to push people away from fossil fuels
Only works if the alternative is capable of providing nearly the same service. Pro tip it isn't, so the end result is just higher prices, or more poverty, same thing. It would be a different story if the purpose was to raise funds, set up a government owned corporation, and just pump nuclear energy like crazy. That would actually be a clear path to achieving carbon neutrality.

Implementing a tax and just hoping that the free market does what you want is retarded. Especially when green energy is so trash. If it was good, it would result in lower end user electricity costs, but it doesn't due to the necessity of a more complex grid, and gas peaker plants which idle for 18 hours a day. End result is high prices even though on paper green energy has x up front cost and y output for z years. This equation will state that it is "cheaper" because it doesn't take everything into account. This is evidenced by countries that have heavily invested in wind and solar, like Ireland, UK, ect.

Higher taxes is a ploy by billionaires to prey on millionaires. Billionaires can use tax money to get government contracts and subsidies inaccessible to millionaires. Regulation is the solution, not taxes.

To work around regulations you start trading emission rights.
So you are allowed to fart 30 times a day.
But you fart only 10 times a day, you sell 20 farts to your neighbour, who farts 50 times a day (and he wants to pass a limit 30 farts/day).

Now both of you on paper farts 30 times a day, which is allowed and clean and green and you beat a global warming.

>Regulation is the solution,
What exactly are you trying to 'solve'?

The billionaires that I can think about are musk, bezos, zuckerberg. There are more ofc, but lets use these guys a model. These guys all built companies on the leading edge of tech and commercialized something as it was becoming big. The google fags were a previous gen - same basic thing. They hold stocks in the companies which as the market sees that they are onto something begins to value highly and as a result these individuals become wealthy.

Do you not want them to do the innovation? Do you not want these companies to be public? (you can't invest in them if they are not public) Do you not want these companies to exist at all? Maybe I'd kind of like the last one...

My main point is that this is the very model for technical development and broadcasting that development as quickly as possible across the global economy. Right now AI datacenters are the thing, and the market is focusing about a trillion $ at the problem of AI compute, and how to put it in all of our grubby little hands.

The problem of the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few is a byproduct of something much, much bigger that has been a tremendous success. The buildout of tech since the 1990's has been incredible. I really question if the concentration of 'wealth' is an actual problem as the net effect is the fast buildout of the tech that we/I can use. The biggest problem I see is the side-effects on people and culture the tech is having - which is a byproduct of the success the system has in building it out quickly - and is quite severe.

And there is the reason I don't mind if they are 'wealthy'. imho, the problem, as always, is in (captured) political 'leadership'.

Question? Does carbon make forrests grow larger?
>contributing to forests growing larger. Elevated CO2 levels enhance photosynthesis, a process known as "carbon fertilization," which accelerates tree growth.
Studies have shown that trees in U.S. forests have grown larger from 1997 to 2017 as CO2 levels rose from 363 to 405 parts per million.
This effect has also been observed in the Amazon rainforest, where giant trees are growing taller and increasing in number, attributed to higher atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuel burning.

Photosynthesis requires water. Trees can only use more CO2 if they also use more water, a problem considering droughts are becoming more common:

Even trees using more CO2 is not enough to lower the amount in the atmosphere, which has now hit 430ppm.

The Amazon is quickly becoming a source of carbon emissions rather than a sink.

Droughts are happening because of deforestation. Trees cool themselves via sweating/panting like other creatures do. These trees put water into the air which form rain clouds. You can actually see this in rain forests where the trees actually release enough water in the day to create storms.

Hey buddy, i don't know if anyone has told you...
You will never be a real woman. You have no womb, you have no ovaries, you have no eggs. You are a homosexual man twisted by drugs and surgery into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.

All the β€œvalidation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your β€œfriends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.

Men are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed men to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even trannies who β€œpass” look uncanny and unnatural to a man. Your bone structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk guy home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected axe wound.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a man is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably male.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
