I'll believe it when I see it.
a poster isn't gonna make a median income worker in the US aged 25-34 - the prime demographic you want to buy houses and start families to have a stable country -
>As of the second quarter of 2025, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median weekly earnings for full-time wage and salary workers aged 25 to 34 are $1,139
making 55K a year or something be able to afford the median house
>As of May 2025, the median home price in the USA is approximately $462,206 for single-family homes, while the median sale price for all home types is around $440,913
with his job while his wife can be a stay at home mom for the kids which is basically the american dream the poster implies.
Just the mortgage and homeowners insurance, property taxes, utilities, maintenance etc of that median house to 35-40K a year.
that leaves our family of four 15-20K for the rest of the year, and they've yet to eat, buy literally anything like clothes, they don't have health insurance or internet or a car or...
The math just doesn't work out.
To bring the "american dream" back as the poster implies, average joe american getting the median wage needs to be able to work 40 hours a week and provide for an entire 4-5 person household on his own with his salary.
>inb4 he should buy a cheaper house, look, here's a nice house thats only 100k in niggerville - flyoverstate-without-jobs.
its the MEDIAN house going to the MEDIAN salary guy, the 50th percentile. he cant buy the 30th percentile priced home because then 30th percentile guy has nowhere to live.
To revive the american dream, either the median salary of 25-34yo's needs to double while all prices stay the same, or all prices (especially homes) need to drop by 50% while the salary stays the same.
