What about works of art? Stanley Kubrick specified that the lost 20 minutes or so of 2001: A Space Odyssey to never be re-inserted into the film or shown and to have the footage burned upon his death. They did not. The footage was reinstated into the film and shown in England to a bunch of rich fucks and for some reason news articles on it have all been deleted.
