As a millenial who didn't end up this way I can only explain what probably did different. First thing that comes to mind is a don't work in a female dominated environment, I feel those have a "living with mom" impact on development. Keeps with females my wife is classic Christian trad, not an enabling quirk chungus. My diet isn't 50% junk food, I hardly eat any processed food period. I do alot of my own repairs & maintenance which gives me an appreciation for real craftsmanship, something that was made by pouring plastic into a mould doesn't impress me.

Those guys built an escape from the real world and yes it's probably a bad idea to brag about how expensive and lavish that escape is.
All you really need for that purpose is a comfy sofa, a good TV, 1 PC or modded console loaded with your chosen escape ropes either through native play or emulation, and a good light for the night. Desk and comfy chair if you're just gonna do PC.
But they're not just doing a simple getaway shelter. They're building their whole lives there, away from the world wide wife.

You and I can look at it and reckon it a bit much, maybe a lot much.
For them it's fine. It's their money, their slop, their gay LEDs and they think it makes them happy.
Thank God they're at least not trying to be sad.
Besides, what these guys do with games, their dads did and still do with automobiles and sheds.
