This issue of inequality is my biggest sticking point with Christianity.
In the religions of early antiquity every tribe and every nation had a god that worshiped that looked out for their interests in particular. There was an understanding that other tribes and nations had their own gods that looked after their interests. Material inequality was not really a concern because the god you worshipped was not an absolute God with absolute power. Material inequality could be explained because your god has only so much favour he can grant you, and even within a tribe he may favour specific individuals because they either give more duitiful worship or because they can be positioned to help the tribe/nation at large.
In Eastern religions that believe in reincarnation and all that then matieral inequality can be explained away by the fact that this life is only one of many and those with material benefit may have earnt that through suffering or righteous deeds in past lives.
But Christianity, despite being far more theologically sound across many aspects, does not account for material inequality. And it is important to note that I am using the term 'material' in a very broad sense. Anything not spiritual is material, including the attributes of the individual including intelligence for example. Why are the circumstances of some people, their home life, access to wealth, people they are surrounded by, and their own intelligence and comprehension ability, setup in such a way that makes pursuit of salvation through Jesus so much easier than others?
I don't know if Christianity has an answer for this beyond saying that it is a mystery beyond our comprehension. Or that God's grace can take these things into account when deciding our fate at the point of death.

So it's not a suprise that many Christian denominations get fixated on compensating for material inequality, which becomes an easy backdoor for leftist political ideology which is itself fixated on inequality
