>Can't read what?
The bible.
Look at the Genesis creation story. Each day (and all units of time) represents a spiritual state, growing from ignorance to that of an angel of the highest heaven. Look at the imagery of things like soil, water, light, plants, animals, birds, humans etc.. they're all something to do with the mind. Animals are emotions, birds are ideas, good or bad depending on the type of animal. The same with mountains and fire, each represents a love of something good or evil depending on its context. Look at all these elements reused throughout the rest of the bible and the symbolism becomes apparent.
You've been tricked by jews into thinking the bible should be read literally, as have many Christians, because they need us to read it in the dumbest way imaginable if they're to be regarded as "chosen", and entitled to "the promised land". Jews don't even represent a literal people in the bible. The 12 tribes are the same as the 12 apostles, which are the same as the 12 gates of the New Jerusalem... etc etc.
Swedenborg wrote about the symbolism painstakingly hundreds of years ago in dozens of books. He goes line by line in the "Secrets of Heaven" series starting with Genesis, explaining each symbol and he references numerous scriptures across the rest of the bible which demonstrate the consistency of the symbol's use. When you see the symbolism and begin to understand it, you'll realize the bible was absolutely written by a higher power, especially considering the text was penned by dozens of people who lived up to thousands of years apart.
