Because that would be abusing God’s power. Back then, if you were given the ability of miracles you could not use it selfishly. Even if it was a necessity. That's why Satan tried to trick Jesus into turning stones into bread. Jesus couldn't even use God’s power to feed himself after starving in the mountains for days. That's how strict the rules for miracles was.

one of the points of this is to show that God did indeed suffer like every other human, but even more suffering on top of suffering.

by doing this, you should understand that God does understand what human suffering is, because God lived a real human life, birth to death and didn't break the laws of the universe to avoid that empathetic suffering.

Because you've missed the point, at least as far as Christendom is concerned. The story of Christ is one of God intentionally experiencing the worst parts of being a human being. He could have blow up the temple, killed all the Pharisees, and installed himself as the Emperor of Rome if He wanted to. It wasn't about that. It was about humility and understanding.
