I'm done dealing with boomer landlords. They make up their own rules and to fight them through the tenant board is more trouble than it's worth most of the time. They know exactly how to fuck you as raw as possible while just doing what ever the fuck they want. Like I'm pretty sure I was denied a place simply because the boomers wife didn't like me.
>the only thing I can think of that turned the boomers wife against me was I said I'm looking for a 'downgrade' from where I'm currently living in order to save money.
It was all online, I showed proof of income and everything. They later showed me the house and gave me a walk around, everything seemed fine except the frown on the boomer wife. Than all of the sudden after a couple days, they say they can't let me in. I proved I have more then enough money for the rent (600 a month) and this boomer literally said to me 'You have to make at least 2000 a month to make me happy.' And literally the NEXT DAY after that conversation they edited the listing price at 700 a month and noted that it's 'STILL AVAILABLE' in all caps just like that.
They led me on for about two weeks that I was going to move in there in November. I got all the texts still. I already made arrangements to be out of the place I'm in by then end of October. Winter is fast approaching and I have no place to live. I even said as much on the phone with him and he just said 'well that's not my problem' and hung up.
