Holy Man in the Desert
[Verse 1]
The moon shines bright on sands of white
A Holy Man stands in the night
Behind him, one he must protect
A follower he won't neglect
Then from the shadows, dark forms glide
The five Zutt come with arrogant stride
Their skin like polished obsidian
A fearsome, dark, and cold battalion.
[Chorus]
But the Holy Man in the desert, he does not fear
He draws a Line in the Sand, a ring of light and sheer
A wall of silver, blazing bright, to shield his follower's rest
While he alone must face this trial and put their power to the test.
"Zutt Zutt in the butt," his voice cuts through the cold
A story of protection, ancient and untold.
[Verse 2]
They do not strike with claw or blade
But with the venom words have made
They mount and ride him to exhaustion with their words, a psychic fray
[CHOIR: Yarkaboun! Yarkaboun!]
Their voices lash and whip and sting, demanding he must pay
He stands his ground, his will unbent, beneath the moon's cold eye
He can beat these five, as they were sent, as they press and amplify.
[Bridge]
The Holy Man, peace be upon him, now prostrates on the ground
In deepest submission, where true power can be found
Before his eyes, their five pillars rise, dark and erect and tall
A forest of their dark defiance, threatening to make him fall
[CHOIR: RISE! RISE!]
But he shys not away, he meets their dread
And with all his might, his hand outstretched, he speaks into the night:
"By a will greater than yours, I command you to be still!"
The very air begins to shake, bending to his will.
[Outro]
The moon shines bright on peace regained
The follower sees the struggle's drained
His Holy Master, strength all spent
From his great trial, his body bent
With pain and exhausted, head so low
Upon his loyal friend's lap, a pillow
A male friend's comfort, safe and deep
A sacred, hard-won peace to keep.
...Silence.
