Is Jesus the same entity as the god of the Old Testament? It seems there’s a growing opinion among anti-zionist Christians that Jesus is not the same being as the god described in the Tanakh (The jewish bible.) Perhaps Jesus was sent to the jews because they needed his help the most? After all when a the jewish authorities rhetorically asked Jesus why he accompanied sinners he sharply replied that the sick are the ones who need a doctor.

I think the Bible's explanation makes more sense than gnosticism.
The Bible says satan is god of this world. The world doesn't suck because of God or some demiurge, it sucks because mankind uses their freewill poorly as Satan is the primary impetus of secular culture and kingdoms.
We had the garden of Eden but we threw it away.
I've never met a gnostic that knew the Bible says Satan is god of this world. They don't believe me when I tell them that. When they look it up and realize it's true, they immediately change their views on gnosticism.

No, the God of the OT is Jehovah. Jesus is not God. He's the son of God. The firstborn of all creation. In the OT, Jesus is an angel. He's Michael, the Archangel.

The idea that Jesus is God is Trinitarian heresy.
