Technically already is... the feds don't allow you to do drugs and own a gun. There is a question on the form the FFL's make you fill out. And you can just answer no... they don't verify it or anything. But if you get caught the gun... lets say like a DUI or something. You get tested. And if they find that you lied on that form you could charged with a federal crime on top of the crime you originally committed. They probably slack on it a lot though. That would be the only problem. Its kinda surprising too since the computers will tell you when that law was violated.

Its true.. But you have understand when this policy was implemented marijuana was still the devil to law enforcement. And the feds still don't respect the states. They held their ground. Also it covers all drugs... not just marijuana.

No.. thats not how it works. There is no "gun registry" except in like a couple states. The feds record that background check. And the form signed. Which all states have to comply with. The feds( ATF ) know every single gun that everyone buys and the serial numbers. Its just not a "registry". Thats misnomer. When the states sell you a gun it doesn't look up your name in any kinda registry. Its a computerized background check. Thats all it is.

Also I think there are a couple of states that do have some kinda registry. I think it might be california and New York. But thats separate from the feds.
