Obesity is an issue you need to get in front of very early on. Starting in childhood. Once you're obese, for the rest of your life, your body will want to return to your heaviest weight.You'll be fighting an uphill battle to keep it off forever as your body tries to restore homeostasis. Therefore,I'd take a preventative approach, beginning with 30 minutes of nutrition based education in kindergarten and continuing through to high-school. The problem is, a lot of these kids parents are dumb dumbs and dont understand basic biology or nutrition and metabolism and blood sugar. I would ingrain dietary science in these kids to prevent it before it ever even started. explain to them the causes of obesity, the foods they need to eat to avoid it and educate them on all of the negative side effects a fat person has to deal with. No kid wants to be fat, it's terrible. Most just don't understand why or how they're getting fat. They don't understand how metabolism works, and what their nutritional needs actually are. They eat stuff that tastes good and eat until they cant eat anymore a lot of the time.
