German zoomer here and I have to admit that many of my people especially Gen X and Boomers behave like the picture with we don't do that in Germany.

They are obsessed with other countries and their politics but ignore the terrible politics here at home. I almost feel like a foreigner in my own country when I go do stuff in my town.

Additionally a lot of people in my generation are already leaving the country and never regretting that position.

I don't want to waste my life here as well for 0 pension and having to pay a lot of taxes to immigrants on welfare.

It has to do with how your opinions conflict with your societal status. If you hear an opinion, way before you check any facts about it, your mind asks this question: If i held this belief, would my status in society suffer from it? If yes, they will not, under any circumstance even look into it.

I used to dislike Germans because of their arrogance and general unpleasant vibe. Then I moved to Asia and the German expats I met there are total bros. I'm not even surprised anymore when they bring up Jews or how cucked Germany has become, now I expect beers and good conversations. One even showed me his collection of you know what memorabilia. As far as GenX and early millenials go, these people have been end-socialized during the early 2000s/around 2003/early iraq war when reddit-tier anti-americanism was at a peak in germany.
A lot of what you see on reddit today was incubated in the social debate sphere of public broadcasting and political discourse of that time.

With boomers it was the vietnam war.

In both cases it is the result of leftist propaganda really.
It's not even that you can't be critical of those wars, but leftists mainly use it as a surface for projection, with america being "le evil imperialists" and whatnot (USSR invading countries and Saddam gassing his own population is fine tho).

It's because of this old West vs East conflict (Germany was divided, later reunited). Because the East collapsed they think everything they do is better and the right way.
