Autism is a devastating disorder that forces the sufferer to always view the world on a binary, black-or-white paradigm.
Fun fact it’s for this reason that it is suggested babies respond very well to black & white colored toys or blankets or playbooks. They see shades of black or white better than actual color, and so accomodating this with black or white imagery or shapes helps babies define shapes and sizes and details a lot easier.
Autists much like infants are stuck in this mode of perception.
