I wouldn't phrase it in those terms, but I don't disagree with the general concept. Thats one of the many points of disagreement between the current DNC leadership at the democratic voter.
The DNC is unwilling to rock the boat on corporate america, its never-ending chasing of the GOP further towards the right, and its subservience to foreign interests and culture war shit over fixing the legitimate problems in front of us.
The voters, meanwhile, want corporate america to be broken up by anti trust laws and for their money to be pulled out of our elections, want an actual left-leaning platform instead of a soft-right one, and considers culture war victories to be a nice-to-have but not the be-all end-all.
Like, the average democratic voter would probably *prefer* trans people to have rights to be treated as the gender the identify as without persecution, but given a choice between that and un-fucking the housing market almost every one of them would pick housing. But the DNC acts like the housing thing doesn't exist and only wants to talk about the trans stuff as if thats everyone's top priority despite there not actually being that many trans people.
