>Why can't Americans be happy with what they have?
Don't know what you are talking about, unless you are referring to the relentless materialism pushed by the fucking jews in media.
I had a conversation with someone this morning - my comment:
>All I ever wanted out of life was to be of use. To be left alone, and a simple life filled with things that actually work.
That's not much to ask, for anyone.
To be of use. To not be fucked with. To have the things I need to work, to actually work and not shit the bed.
Due to circumstances outside of my control, the first two are still up for grabs.
The last I have control over - I buy old things that last a long time and I rebuild them and use them for decades more.
The latest thing I am working on? The Toaster of Theseus.
Bought a broken Dualit toaster that is no longer made for the US market and, due to Brexit and tariffs, they refuse to honor legacy warranty.
I replaced everything that needed it - because you can still find some parts - and now I am fabricating parts that don't even have part numbers in order to put it back into use.
I expect it to last another 30 years.
