Let’s just allow for this to be true, it’s because characteristic outliers are characteristic outliers. Homosexuality is an outlier, as is high intelligence, high talent, etc. So basically, considering your premise, they would be comorbid traits.

Every single noteworthy accomplishment in western history was made by a gay or bisexual man. Straight men are good functionaries and assistants. We love them in the way one might love a loyal dog, or a sturdy horse. Women, I have little to say about.

There's no money in music anymore because music is maxed out as an artistic medium. There are a finite number of melodies/chord progressions in diatonic than can be used to make it, and most of them have been, multiple times.

The music business understands this better than anyone and has shifted from identifying and promoting bright, talented, artistically and emotionally deep people to just plugging marginally-talented vaguely fuckable people who will go along with their agenda.
There is no other reason that modern DJ's would be considered talented for standing on stage doing that gay wristy hand wave thing over and over while pretending to turn knobs.
