>Bernie has long endorsed border control and immigration restriction because he sees immigrants as threats to the income to unionized employees.
Yeah, as I said, he betrayed his original convictions in 2016 to avail himself to the anti-Trump crowd. Even as late as 2015 he was in favor of strong borders. Here he is on VOX in July 2015 (barely a month after Trump announced his candidacy) saying that "OPEN BORDERS IS A KOCH BROS PROPOSAL"

He literally said right wingers would love to have open borders because then you could pay people 2 or 3 bucks an hour instead of giving jobs to American youth which had high unemployment rates in 2015.
Here is his 30 minute speech on the Senate floor on why he was voting against the bill that would've given amnesty to illegal immigrants or provided a guest worker program. George W. Bush and many Republicans were in favor of this at the time:

Here's Bernie on Lou Dobbs in 2007 explaining why we need strong borders and should not allow more illegal immigrants to work in the US:

And here he is in this video 2020 clip compared to 2007 clip showing how he flip flopped on his views:

It's really sad. Bernie used to be pretty based on immigration. Had he stuck to his guns, we could've had bipartisan effort to reduce immigration and build the border wall. Unfortunately though, Bernie made the calculation that the left would likely abandon him if he kept spouting the same things Trump was saying, so he cucked.
I had a lot of respect for Bernie until he cucked out on this and until he cucked out and endorsed Hilary
