There's a really, really simple way to look at it when you stop being retarded. Morrowind shows a lot of promise, but time left it. Skyrim is strictly speaking more advanced than Morrowind. Skyrim > Morrowind out of these games. Morrowind >> Skyrim in the context that they came out.

I played that for a while but I quit MMOs for good. I cant do it. I lack the proper discipline to play an MMO and live a decent life at the same time. It was good though. Combat felt very good and there was so much lore.

my experience with morrowind was finding some shoes that make you jump 10 feet up then crash and die after that I kind of lost interest

it didn't help that you can just steal everything and exploit as you want typical bethesda style

If you gave me a game that looks just like Daggerfall that was made by hand in the same grand scale and with as much depth to its narrative I would never put it down. As it stands Daggerfall is the game I play once a while as it's easy to pick up and put down (almost roguelike as the kids call it) while Morrowind I play like every 5+ years.

I have played morrowind like 20 times over the past 20 years dude. Pretending that it having more useless skills to never level makes it better makes daggerfall better than anything that came after it.
Of the morrowind skills: Medium armor is useless, spear is useless except to train endurance, armorer is useless, long blade and short blade are separated for no reason, sneak is useless (and has to be modded to even work correctly), mercantile is useless unless you find an easter egg merchant, athletics is useless, and acrobatics and magic in general are so ridiculously OP as to make half of the other skills useless as well.

Alchemy is better. I agree with this. Durability is mostly a waste of time that doesnt matter in a game with an economy so broken. It was better to have birthsigns and shit on character creation instead of choosing it in game, also. Dialogue is fun to me in morrowind but is basically just a wikipedia hyperlink list and almost everything is recycled from character to character. Morrowind quests are universally considered to be the worst by everyone speaking objectively because they are almost all fetch quests, go here kill that guy, or go here and advance through dialogue with this guy. Factions are better and more broad though i agree yes too. Otherwise skyrim has advanced pretty much everything

I still like morrowind more because nostalgia blinds us but lets be real lol

Oblivion is and has always been the best Elder Scrolls. Morrowind is needlessly difficult (not a skill issue, I have 300 hours in it, but your ability to attack being tied to your stamina is archaic and fucking retarded), and Skyrim is too damn oversimplified. Oblivion was perfect.

The only benefits Skyrim has are a more alive-feeling wilderness and the ability to throw objects around with the new physics system. Combat is objectively worse and arcade-style. They gimped most everything. Skyrim also has the worst dungeons. You feel so pointless going into yet another faggot dungeon, getting deja vu all the time, etc. I almost think Oblivion was more fun, in retrospect. Yeah it's a lot of nonsense with closing the portals but there is just a lot more to DO or so it felt like.

Skyrim has its moments and is fun but as time goes on it all feels so hollow. I grew tired of it.
