Ukraine is a large military base disguised as a country. (soviets designed Ukraine as a spearhead against NATO in case of WW3, that's why most of Ukraine's infrastructure is adapted to hot war and nuclear warfare)

Iraq is a fucking dessert

they prefer to use a strategy that wins.
spending 15 years and trillions of dollars just to lose is not how they rule.

Ukraine is a completely flat country next to Russia. Its literally 0km from their borders. Its like USA losing a war to Mexico.

It's a good thing that Russia is only on its fourth year since the war started in Ukraine. They've got 11 more years to go.

Aircraft is expensive and they don't have air superiority. They could easily lose them to patriots. And then they'd lose a few tens of millions in $ equivalent at the cost of 1 million per patriot missile.
They're already hitting targets with their own missiles and drones.

Also forgot to add..
Since Ukraine got atacams and himars, they've been able to hit all airfields within a few hundred kilometres, so to fly aircraft over ukraine they'd have to bring them from much further distance, wasting a lot of fuel for what? Hitting a few targets they can already hit from afar?

aircraft and big missiles are expensive and takes longer to renew, humans are cheap. only 0.05% of the troops died in all of 3 years, they can keep going forever. risk waste key military resource early and you are out of all options later

ukraine had west provided anti-tank and manpads in significant enough quantity to prevent the shock and awe strat.
a significant part of the russian tactic was to capture hostomel for the air bridge, which didn't happen.
as a backup russia did a 40 mile convoy that got bogged down and picked off by bayraktar before radars had a decent way to detect them

That's not part of the plan.
Because that would be too easy.
How can you rob Nations & Blood if you cure the disease?
When instead you can just treat the contrived symptoms.
And fuck everyone at the same time.

Who's to say Putin and Ratsky aren't bed buddies behind everyone's back?
And while people die they both get paid.

before everything went to shit russia thought they could take ukraine with pretty much no resistance, like they took crimea previously.
some soldiers didn't even know they were in ukraine.
some soldiers booked reservations for restaurants in kyiv
they thought they were going to be welcomed in by ukranian civilians. there were even non-lethal munitions brought in because they assumed protestors would be the worst of it.

The public didn't know to doubt that there'd be a seal clubbing because media was far less free with that kind of thing.
Everyone in the public expected a seal clubbing and then we're unsurprised to learn it was a seal clubbing. Public opinion turned pretty sharply against the war when footage of the Highway of Death came to life and it became clear that a wholly defeated foe was being culled with a brutal efficiency the Nazi's could only dream of, plus a few high profile friendly fire incidents.

I remember then saying they were going in but not guns drawn.
Then the Ukie artillary smashed 1000s? 10 of thousands of them?
That shit was like ducks lined up to slaughter.
Shit was crazy.

How could you trust any military operation these days?
At least the ones from Russia.
Did they say they would fire on Russia when they crossed the border?
I can't remember all I know is it looked like a human sacrifice for sure.

Ah yes, americans jacking off to the time they bombed a country with the tech of the 50s for the 4000th. Then comparing that to a prepared and well organised modern military with air defence that can actually hit things.

ukraine is also not the other side of the planet from russia. sort of weird to even consider the situations equivalent.
unironically, things might have gone better for russia if it were further away, since they would have had to have a better contingency plan than a 40 mile convoy.

Also, Russia is eating shit after four years and suiciding demographically not by choice, but because their initial maneuver warfare operations failed, and they had to SETTLE for the attritional mega death style. See picrel. The idea is NOT to irreparably destroy the demographics of your people, while still winning.

The fist gulf war was won in 4 days. A million man army destroyed, utterly, in 4 days.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn_SY87MUTg

By the way, did you know that Russia got their asses handed to them in Afghanistan? And they will NEVER take Kiev. They will never regime change them. The taliban was regime changed on November 13 2001, three weeks after the invasion. Kabul was taken. Russia will never achieve a victory like we did in the first gulf war. They are too stupid to conduct successful maneuver warfare. They will never regime change anyone.

Because Russia is fighting an entire coalition by itself; The Gulf War was an entire coalition fighting against an impoverished third world country. That's the difference.

Truth is they went there with specific orders to avoid any civilian casualties at any cost; that only begun to end when ukrainian war crimes on POWs started to come up.
