To me, it seems like you're on the brink of a situation where the United States of America experiment is about to fail and be permanently over. The two political parties are simply incompatible with being able to live with each other, without both sides wanting to destroy the other.

Now whether this means that the US is going to split up as a whole and try to go their separate ways, or it means that the entire political system will be reformed to have something more similar to what exists in European countries where both sides will actually have to work together, I guess we'll have to see.
