Probably not much in most of them. Most systems have stars that make it problematic for biospheres to exist. It is probable that biospheres are decently common in G-type stars that are stable for a couple of billion years. 70-80% of stars are red dwarfs, right? Biospheres could be semi-common in those systems, but they are likely rarer than G-type. Most of the Milky Way is likely used for resource extraction by the species in control of that territory. But don't listen to my Sterllaris/ hard sci fi addled brain.

I remember a few years ago they found that Orion belt is an illusion - the stars are much further apart and just happen to give the illusions of being closer.

Hey, society research is society research. Will they be a problem? 100% unless they have similar ethics. I disagree with the xenophobe, though. It is probably xenophile if anything. Everyone wants to fuck an alien.

>I disagree with the xenophobe, though. It is probably xenophile if anything. Everyone wants to fuck an alien.
Disagree with your disagreement, xenophobe is correct. We have had wars over two groups having slightly different types/tones of black or white skin, probably our #1 cause of wars in fact. We're going to want to nuke or space nuke every single type of alien we meet. And then for good measure probably go back in time and erase them out of ever existing. Yes weirdos will want to fuck the shit out of them too, but that translates to individual pops having Xenophile ethics. Empire ethics are Xenophobe for sure.

Huh? What are you talking about? The left and right ones aren't even actually individual stars, they're entire star systems containing multiple stars. That they're very far away from one another in terms of distance isn't a new discovery.

This is a fun disagreement! Humans pack bond with LLMs. We are highly territorial apes that have a habit of incorporating other species into our tribe even before we discovered writing(Dogs, cats, elephants, etc). Will we go full Xenophobe on aliens that are not fuckable, or useful, 100%? The only way we go xenophobic as an ethic is if the entire gamut of species around us is ugly, has massive moral differences, or they are examples of divergent evolution. I don't think xenophobe or xenophile would be ethical choices for us, but we would probably tilt either way depending on some of these factors. If everything around us is space amoebas, I agree with you. If they are slutty twi'leks, I disagree. Two in militaristic, one in authoritarian, with probably a Corporate government by that point. Maybe an imperial or dictatorial one.

That's every constellation. Orion's stars tend to be closer to each other than a lot of other constellations just because most were formed within the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex.

Constellations were probably invented by the jewish cavemen. Back in the dinosaur days, they had nothing better to do than stare at the stars when the sun went down.

we're very most likely alone at least in this region of the universe. even if there is life out there, they're no guarantee intelligence ever evolves of without blowing themselves up.
even making past that, there is no possible way to cross the vast distances of space. space is actively trying to kill you every second. poor dinosaurs.

Good question. I was asking the sky the same thing when I observed the largest meteorite I’ve ever seen, was about the size of the twinkle of Uranus/Aldebaran but several magnitudes brighter, moving from right to left, and moving quite slow, but considerably faster than the satellites one can spot if looking up for longer than 10 seconds. The day before I saw one there as well, though it was much smaller, dimmer, and faster.
Pic is probably going to rotate on me, sorry lads.
