Job market is hiring nobody, people live with parents till their 40s cause the housing market is dead, food prices are inaccessible and the majority of young men are incels with no hopes of getting a girlfriend.

People have to keep the system running so they can survive (work to buy food, pay rent, etc). Civilization is extremely resilient when you have a vested interest. It'll eventually give in when some pillar collapses. The wonder is which one will finally break things. The US government (or, more specifically, the oligarchs that bribe its politicians) see Americans as an externality that exist for foreign goods and services dumped on so their USDs can be injected into the global economy and circulated, but don't need to be kept above a subsistence level

China doesn't want to replace the US as reserve currency holder because it would decimate their manufacturing, and there's no other serious alternatives, so the western world will continue slowly decaying for the foreseeable future
