This has been a problem for a long time. When I was growing up we decided to keep two bowls of candy. We weren't in a rich area, but it was white (back long enough that white areas could still be lower middle class). We could buy one bag of little candy bars, put them in a bowl, and the kids who lived within walking distance would come knocking on our door and we could hold out the bowl for them to pick the piece they wanted. Then the negroid hoards started pulling cars into the neighborhood and unloading large groups of kids not in costumes, most of them too old to be trick or treating, and if you held the bowl out they would grab handfuls. We weren't rich, but on a budget, and we weren't going to throw money away on candy like that. So we would buy a bag of the cheap stuff, gum and tootsie rolls, and put that in a separate bowl for the hoards of negroids to paw at. Once the negros started coming into our neighborhood to raid for candy some of the little kids who lived around here got beat up and their candy taken. So a lot of porch lights started going out.

That was all real as late as 2001 or so. I went to my friend's neighborhood trick or treating as a tennis ball. There were kids EVERYWHERE. It was wild, I had never seen anything like it. It wasn't a rich neighborhood or anything by any means, it was just a neighborhood with older kids that had established families and big trees. So much candy, so much fun. No one was mean, everyone had a good time and everyone felt like a new potential best friend. Then, I watched this dwindle with time. We even commented on how there were fewer and fewer kids each year. Of course there were as families grew older, but almost no new families moved in, of the few that did almost none had kids. My friend and one of his brothers still live there and they do have kids, but I doubt they trick or treat much at all. America might just be dying or maybe we're growing up, either way it isn't what it used to be and that's no fun.

Then I moved to a better one. Six houses on my dirt road. No street lights on the three roads I have to take to get to a paved road. My driveway is a hundred yards long, so I can't even see the road from my porch. My town is 97% White, 2% Indian ( feather, not dot ), and 1% "other".
There's only six houses on my road, and three of them have kids. I'll stop by tomorrow morning & leave little Halloween bags with their parents.

Around my city, I started getting a lot of older kids (early to mid 20s) that would come up in regular street clothes/jeans/tshirt/hoodie and just open a pillow case and that was it.
