its easy with 1 trick. language. see language as enemy evil parasite, don't use it at all when you think. just be in the moment with your sense and intuitions. This is how you will achieve not wanting.

to what end?
wanting is part of living.

It's like having a dead body that gets hungry
what's the point?
It's some kind of abomination

Wanting with your stomach or body is one thing, wanting with thoughts and language is another. 2 arrows of Buddha and all that.

There is nothing wrong with wanting. Wanting is what spurs a man to keep one foot in front of the other, wanting is the force that fills a man’s mind and allows his imagination to soar, wanting is what helps a man fill his life to near completion, so that he can say he had a life well lived.

The only two types of people who despise want & wanting, are those who lack the spirit to see to their own wants, and those who want to do wickedness and don’t feel they are allowed to.

Well yeah I'm using language ain't I. That's my point. Without it I don't want anymore. I want that and then I'm free from it as long as I stick to it. Its very simple really.

it is the nihilistic reality when looking at the minimal scope in time and influence of our existence. because we are so early in the timeline our answer is coping narcissism. all of us will go down in history for thousands, maybe millions of years as the ultimate barbarian. dirty, uncivilized and self-obsessed driven by ignorant stupidity.

stop eating the meat

the conjecture is what the deep dive was trying to fix. conjecture is the stories that were memed. the evidence comes from statements from people around him and knew him. you can say the non-suicide is conjecture but it's pretty convincing. the ear is indisputable. he didn't cut it off for a hooker. he had a mental breakdown when Gaugin told him he was leaving. He really didn't like being alone.

No it doesn't. It's only thought based. I'm not talking about animalistic craving and bodies needs. I'm talking about human desire aka obsession. When you talk to yourself how you want it. This is the problem. Me feeling I need to shit isn't.
I need to shit
I want to be successful and loved
It's not the same.

existente itself is a contradiction. as Christ teachings goes, turn the other cheek yet do not be a sheep among wolves.
the path to self realization is one which no person will ever truly convey in word, the best attempts at doing has already been done over thousands of years ago. youre not as smart and witty as you perceive bro.

Words don't do it justice either. Those who are in the know, know, no explanation is needed and those who are not not explanation will be adequate. Either you had gnosis or you didn't

Rightoids letting go of their ego is basically impossible though. Then closest thing this board will ever get to enlightenment is getting crypto rich and desperately chasing immortality tech before dying in immense existential fear

they do, but i really don't think he did. those close to him didn't think he did it either. the story goes that a couple of young boys who used to follow him around were playing with a gun and it went off and hit Vincent. Vincent didn't report it to protect the boys because it was an accident. I can't describe it very well but it's worth a read.

As far as the hooker, he may have liked her or whatever, i can't remember. But the reason he blacked out and cut it off was a mental breakdown over Gaugin leaving. Gaugin was gone and the hooker was the only one around.

the death i understand is uncertain, and if it happened like that then sure, shit happens.
>the ear
apparently it wasnt a hooker at all. but imagine giving your ear to someone....that cant not have some meaning. if it was about his buddy leaving then its still a big red flag of him being nuts. suicide in that context is hardly surprising.
Anonymous (ID: BTpc8AaT) United States No.520203594 [Report] >>520204251
>>520202843
i agree suicide wouldn't be surprising, but the strongest case imo is the case the authors made for the two boys accidentally shooting him. After reading the whole thing and a lot about him I don't think he wanted to die or would've considered suicide. You can be crazy without being suicidal as well. I think it's important to his legacy to bring this up as a good possibility.

Maybe it wasn't a hooker, I read the book many years ago. It may have had meaning, who knows. He was in a fugue state when he did it. But yeah he had attachment issues. He was a very lonely man. He spent a lot of time alone, starving and sleeping/living in pretty horrible conditions. I like being alone. I think he did too. I think a lot of artists do. But we also don't like being alone. It's a weird way to exist.

im the same anon so i know what you mean. but i also know that i wouldnt give my ear to some girl that didn't matter to me, not hang around with 'boys' and have them play with guns near me. its a strange story any way you look at it, and for me the evidence suggests at the very least a desire for death if not an out right suicide attempt. its ok either way with me and plays no role in my appreciation for his work

it really doesn't matter to me other than as a preference for truth other myth. He managed to make some of the most valued images ever created and i have a slight understanding of why...his mental state and actions dont really do anything against or for that.
