Moore Street in Dublin was the main market stall place where everyone in Ireland would come to sell their crap. It would be the first place an outsider would come to get acquainted. When foreigners started coming, they would go to Moore Street first then they set up shop inside the buildings. They can't knock down the street and develop it into something modern because it was also the site of an Easter Rising battle so it's stuck being some dodgy slum in the middle of the city. The centre of every Irish town is a market.
