Actually the Confederate Constitution was pretty good. It had a rule requiring each bill of congress to be restricted to one topic and the bill had to be directly related to the title of the bill. Also they made it alot harder for congress to appropriate money. Also the single six year presidential term makes alot of sense- no lame ducks, no campaigning half your term etc etc. Also they made it impossible for the fed courts to apply the BoR to states (incorporation) etc. States had more control over their militias etc etc.
