So I know I can't prep much, but what are some small things I can stock up on for if there's a prolonged power outage? So far I'm hoarding bottled water, deenz and batteries. What else would be useful?

you should be preparing for laws to not be enforced, so get lots of scrap metal, milling machines, metal 3d printers, and gunpowder

You can substitute dried onions and dried carrot flakes for the fresh ones in a longterm emergency. Meat will be whatever you can get, if you want it, if you can even get it.

If you want to prep really really cheaply, get a food dehydrator and prepare your own onion flakes and carrot flakes for long-term storage in that. TBQPH you should check with a professional prepper over how to do that so they don't mold or rot in storage; I've never done it myself.

My favorite low-cost recipe is split pea soup. The recipe off the "Hampeas" package at Wal-Mart works really well.

20 oz split peas
12 cups water
1 onion, diced
some carrots, diced
some smoked ham or turkey, diced
salt
pepper
bay leaves (I put in about 6 large ones)
half a stick of butter

Throw everything together in a big pot, bring to a high boil for half an hour, then reduce heat to a simmer (as low as you can get it while still bubbling) for another hour to 1.5 hours.

You can use as much or as little meat as you want.

BTW, regarding this part, get yourself a 3D printer. Without knowing your cunt I can't say how hard it would be to smuggle some ammunition in and hide it, but with a 3D printer you can easily make some .22LR firearms, and the ammunition for them is cheap and compact.

You can even make all-plastic firearms (well, maybe a rubber band too) that will work for one or two shots. If you can get a metal tube of the right diameter then you can make a chamber for the ammunition that will withstand a reasonable amount of firing -- enough to get a better gun off a dead enemy, anyway. Or at least you won't be completely helpless against looters, and at worst can take one or a few with you to Hell.

10. Insulating foil blankets, things to keep warm with.

12. First aid kit with extra peroxide and alcohol, also antibiotics.

Have you never experienced stuff like this? No electricity isn't the big thing. It's no water. And it's not about having your Evian or something to bathe with etc. It's about flushing your toilet. Toilets operate on pure physics. And water. Meaning its a purely independent functional thing thay cant be shut off etc. If you fill the back container with water then you can flush it. Or really just even the bowl. The physics is gravity. If you fill the bowl past a certain point it flushes automatically. You need a stock of water to flush the toilet.

Canned food never really expires. The taste will get worse; but it never really expires unless the seal is broken. They did some tests on 150 year old Victorian Royal Navy canned food and it was still nutritionally viable, the scientists even taste tested it and said it wasn't bad just a little bland.

LOL. What you want to do is get a simple barrel for water, and fill it with tap / distilled + get some water preservation stuff. Bottled water is stupidly expensive and you need so much of it.

deenz is fine, I prefer tuna as it's cheaper but whatever.
