I don't like criminals but BOPE shouldn't be glorified. They kill innocent people all the time. They've even been caught planting guns on unarmed corpses. They are thugs who never get held accountable for their crimes.
We have the same problem in my home country Mexico. Every time you give a Latino a badge and little bit of power, whether he speaks Spanish or Portuguese, he will use it to bully defenseless citizens. He will kill them if he can get away with it. That's just the nature of the Latin American cop.
