There are three groups in society.

A .Agents of the state who are exempt from legislation
B. The free people, law abiding, who may use arms and follow laws.
C. The criminal element, who may use arms, and ignores laws.

The reasons are thus;

1. Gun legislation is infeasible to enforce. Dirt poor muslim-burmese minorities 3d print submachine guns en-masse that are assembled only with consumer available machines and material that are impossible to regulate. Even putting aside 3d-printing, there is nothing particularly complex about firearms. A century of failed prohibition and drug wars have demonstrated police inability to stop the manufacture of complex chemicals for drugs, it will never stop even the simplest of machining and powder refining.

2. With this in mind, and those three groups defined, gun legislation strictly only one result; "The monopoly or increasing monopoly of effective violence granted to the state, but too impotent to be enforced on the most dangerous members of society." With group B the only ones affected, the state (A) may further violate other rights and criminals (C) may fear their victims less.

Because :
1 people in power, strangely, do not want me to have firearms, yet they protect themselves with firearms via bodyguards, police, army, thugs
2 there will always be some people who will have the intention of hurting other people : thugs, police, mudslimes, soldiers, shitskins...

I unironically like that you guys are so adamant in retaining your gun rights that basically nothing makes you yield them - and hell knows they've tried everything.

Conversely, it took pussy countries only one or two shooty-mctooty events for the governments to strip an entire nation of such offsensive/defensive means and claim the monopoly of violence.

Despite everything I know about the UK it still surprised me.
If the UK government issue a shoot on sight order on all whites it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

Yes.

The threat of a peasant revolt is the sword of Damacles hanging over the head of every politician and every member of the ruling class. If the balance of power shifts too far into the direction of the state then they may oppress the people with impunity. If the threat of violent reprisal by the common people is maintained then the rulers must consider the interests of the people lest they rise up and kill them.

Its not even necessary for the people to be able to defeat the military or their rulers in direct conflict. The threat of having the economic system thrown into chaos by an uprising and the potential death of member of the ruling class who consider themselves untouchable is enough to maintain a balance of power.
